Senior Days

Haven't written on this blog in a while. September was consumed with Jake, his illness and death. I wrote about it on Shane's blog. I don't have children, and losing Jake is not comparable to that kind of tragedy, but it's still a painful loss.

While Jake was sick, I had my last laser treatment. I told the doctor that I was still unhappy with the breakouts on my cheeks. He seemed surprised because he had been zapping my red capillaries and not treating the acne. Duh. So, they did a few more painful zaps on the veins - I had smeared the sedative all over my face to ensure that I'd be numb, but it still wasn't enough. Terrible pain. So afterward, they treated the acne on my cheeks. Guess what! That didn't hurt! I asked the tech what happened and she said it's a different filter. You are telling me that all this time I could have had this kind of treatment? I'm glad the redness is gone, but I was more upset about the breakouts. The doctor also prescribed tetracycline, which I'm not too happy about, but I'm doing it.

So back to Senior Days. Yesterday, we got our flu shots. Trying to decide when to start getting the pneumonia shots as well. Got home and found a brochure for Sun City Texas in the mail. Frank and I actually looked up the web site to see the models. Unreal.
